Fixture change angers fans

Luton Town supporters find themselves inconvenienced yet again by the decision on police advice to switch the match at Hayes & Yeading from 3:00pm on a bank holiday Monday to a Tuesday evening kick-off. Three fixtures in the first month of the season will not take place on their original dates which is simply unacceptable.

As ever it seems that football supporters are the last people to be considered when these decisions are made. Football bemoans the lack of young supporters and yet fixtures are moved to a time which precludes many from attending. This is not good for fans or for the club’s gate.

Luton Town Supporters Club understands that one of the reasons given for moving the Hayes & Yeading game is that police resources will be stretched due to the Notting Hill Carnival. If that is the case then why did the Conference ever schedule this match for Bank Holiday Monday? The dates of the carnival were well known before the fixture list was drawn up.

While LTFC had little say in this fixture change, the Supporters Club have been in contact with them to express our disgust at another fixture change and the inconvenience it will cause supporters.
